Stunning Flagler Beach is only 10 miles away. This historic seaside community was founded 100 years ago. George Moody had a dream to build a thriving beach resort. He built the first home on the beach in 1914 & the Casino was built in 1916. Originally he called it "Ocean City Beach" but since there was already an Ocean City, New Jersey and Ocean City, Maryland, their postal permit was rejected and the area was named Flagler Beach in honor of Henry Flagler, who was a key figure in the development of the Florida East Coast in the last 1800s - early 1900s.
Varn Park is just a short drive north of Flagler Beach. The eight-acre park offers wheelchair access to the beach, plus restrooms with outdoor showers. The ample parking includes ADA-compliant spaces.

This secured effectively ended French colonial ambitions in Florida and secured Spanish dominance.
